Template editor overhaul

Collecting and evaluating feedback about the Template editor led us to undertake extensive changes in the ways it can be utilized. The content elements can be now assigned Styles, making adjustments and the creation of new templates even easier.

You can use preformatted, stylized content blocks. Simply drag the version of the element you want & drop it where you choose in the template.

Last year saw an unprecedented increase in methods and volume of online communication. As a result, one of the frequent requests from our clients was for help with the addition of social media icons destinations, scheduling apps, etc. to their signatures. And that is why we have included an extensive variety of icons in the editor. You can choose from different sizes, shapes and give them any color that will fit your design.

The same principle can be used to enrich your templates and marketing with images directly from Canva. One of the most popular tools online for the creation of collages, flyers, and banners – now integrated into SignatureSatori.

Better connection with Google Workspace, stronger payment security, signature HTML download, and more!

Signature HTML download

One of the advantages of SignatureSatori is that you don’t have to deal with specific user signatures. But sometimes it still may be necessary to access them e.g. for archival purposes or while setting up signatures outside Gmail.

You can now view and download the HTML code of the last signature set to the user from SignatureSatori. Simply go to Users & Set-up, click on the ⋮ on the very right of the screen and choose Download/View HTML.

Payment security with 3D Secure 2

Online privacy and security is the single most important aspect of our work and we strive to achieve and maintain the highest possible standards for our clients. One of the biggest advancements we introduced is 3D Secure 2, an authentication protocol protecting credit and debit card transactions against payment fraud.

Simply put, 3D Secure is a security and authentication protocol for card payments online used by SignatureSatori and other online merchants. But there's much more to it.

History

The 3DS protocol was originally introduced in 1999 to prevent unauthorized use of credit cards for online purchases. It ties together the acquirer bank, the issuer bank, and the infrastructure supporting the protocol. These three parties are called ‘domains’ (hence 3D).

In the early 2000s, VISA (one of the original co-developers of the protocol) deployed 3DS1. The system generally received praise but also some (deserved) critique. Credit card holders had to create a static password that was used for authorization which partially compromised the security. In case of a forgotten password, users were redirected to their bank, leading to lower conversion rates for businesses since many customers didn’t recreate their password and didn’t finish the transaction.

3DS2

Learning from these mistakes and reflecting the technological advancement, 3DS2 was introduced in 2016. The biggest change was in the flow of the process. When making a purchase, the customer’s bank is first notified to verify and assess the transaction. Only if the transaction is considered high risk, the customer will be prompted to authenticate themselves. Among the authentication methods used is also ‘out-of-band authentication’ via the mobile app of customers’ bank. 3DS2 is compliant with the Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) requirement set forward by the EU in 2019.

EU vs the World

As mentioned, 3DS fulfils the requirements set by the EU and is currently the most used solution in the region. Although initially introduced by VISA, it is now developed and maintained by EMVCo., a joint operation of VISA, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, and others.

While merchants from outside the EU are exempt from the SCA directive, the situation could change. Several countries outside the EU have proposed their own version of SCA. On top of that, several studies have also shown that 3DS2 drastically reduces checkout time for most users and cart abandonment. 3DS2 helps both the merchant and the customer to complete the transaction swiftly and safely.

3DS2 in SignatureSatori

So how does exactly 3DS2 work in SignatureSatori? Well, in most cases customers won’t even notice it running in the background. If it manifests, it will be in the form of a pop-up window asking them to input a verification code during a transaction. Depending on their card issuer and individual settings, the verification code will be shared with the bank’s authentication app on a mobile device tied to the card – or sent to that device via SMS. It will look similar to the image below (the text and design are managed by the card issuer and may slightly differ).

Improved management of user requests, better synchronization, information about domain health, and much more!

Detailed Overview Of User Requests

This option gives you powerful, yet simple tools to further include users in the process of collecting data used in their signatures.

The improved procedure of approving user requests gives you a clear overview of current data and the requested changes so you can make better, more informed decisions.

If you don’t want to “micromanage” the signatures, you can always set up automated approval in Settings. More details about the procedure and how to utilize it properly are available on our Help site.

More Synchronization Options

Another way of uploading data into SignatureSatori is synchronization with the G Suite directory. While we generally recommend keeping the databases mirrored, there are many situations when it will be necessary to have different or additional information in one of them.

This is the reason why we decided to introduce more “granularity” to the synchronization options. You can decide if you want to overwrite the data in SignatureSatori or if you want to synchronize only fields that have been empty so far.

You can learn more about these options if you go to our Help site.

Domain Health Check

The anti-spam and anti-phishing policies of Gmail are continually updated. The changes can sometimes unexpectedly cause your emails to end in spam on an unprecedented scale. That is why we decided to introduce the Domain Health Check.

Put very simply, the spam score of your emails depends on the content of the specific email and the reputation of your domain. Domain Health Check informs you about three authentication methods that greatly improve the reputation and we sincerely recommend implementing them.

Even if you don’t experience any issues now, doing so will help you prevent future incidents. As always, more information can be found on our Help site.

Mass Profile Picture Update

Profile pictures of your users can greatly enhance your signatures – but it can be a hassle to manage them. With this feature, you will be able to keep the images in SignatureSatori up to date with your data in G Suite – either entered there by admin or changed by users in their Google Profile. Complete information is available on our Help site.

Users page rehaul and 3D Secure payments

Say hello to the Users & Set-up page!

We have spent a lot of time composing and testing the new layout of the User list. We’re aware it was not always intuitive and easy to navigate. As SignatureSatori grows, what was once sufficient requires more attention and this is the first step in “polishing” the user interface.

As you can see, we have put together users in Credit mode and Subscription – no more clicking and switching between them! Users in Subscription are now marked purple and Credit users in orange.

If you want to manipulate the users, simply tick the checkbox next to their name. You will now have the option to Set signatures for them or move them in or out of the Subscription.

After you choose one of the options, it will be recapitulated and you’ll need to confirm it. And that’s it, nothing complicated!

What are 3D Secure payments?

We care about the safety and security of your account. That’s why we introduced support for 3D Secure payments, providing an additional layer of protection against fraudulent payments. You can learn more about them on the website of our payment processor.

This transition required us to introduce more stratified Billing information. If you already have a SignatureSatori account, please check your payment info to make sure we transformed your contact details correctly.

Group based Automation, G Suite Data Sync for Credits and several small improvements

What is Group based Automation?

This feature will save you time and effort in keeping the signatures up to date. If you put it together, you won’t have to spend time with new or moved users.

Example: Company XYZ uses Subscriptions and has a big employee turnover. The administrator needed to enter new employee’s data to Google Workspace (G Suite), synchronize them to SignatureSatori and manually add them to Subscription. If they ran out of Subscription seats, he needed to purchase more. With Subscription automation, the administrator can set up his system to automatically synchronize the new user to SignatureSatori, automatically include him into the Subscription and automatically apply his signature. He can even set an automated purchase of the Subscription seats if necessary!

This feature serves best to organizations with big turnover or frequent internal changes that result in signature changes and especially those that keep their user data up to date in G Suite Global Directory.

This function works both with the Credit and Subscription modes.

How does Subscription automation work?

If you enable Subscription automation for all (or even just selected) User Groups, the new users in these User Groups (whether completely new or moved there) will be automatically subscribed for a seat in the Subscription and their signature, therefore, will be set and kept up to date in the future.

What about automating users in Credit mode?

New or moved users can have their signature set even if you don’t want them included in the Subscription. As long as you enable Credit Automation, their signatures will be updated upon being added to SignatureSatori (or moved to a User Group that has Credit Automation activated). You can do that even if you don’t use Subscription!

So… How can I enable Credit Automation even if I don’t want to use Subscription?

There’s a new feature that does that called G Suite Data Sync for Credits. Enabling this feature for 5 Credits a month will (as the name suggests) synchronize the data from Google Workspace (G Suite) to SignatureSatori.

That sounds great but what about…

Do you miss anything in SignatureSatori? Is there something that will make your life easier? Let us know, we value your feedback!

External sources support, campaign rotation, new custom fields and a lot of small improvements

One of the most frequent requests from our customers was an option to enrich the signatures with dynamic content. Now we have finally the pleasure to announce the arrival of external sources!

What are external sources?

We currently offer an option to connect RSS, X (formerly) Twitter and Eventbrite feeds to your signatures. That means Subscription users will get an option to promote their blog articles, social media accounts or events in a new and much more comfortable way. Your impact can be even bigger if you use external sources with campaign rotation.

Wait, campaign rotation?

Yes, you now have an option to set marketing campaign rotation. This feature enables you to promote different content every day on a regular or random basis.

More custom fields!

A very popular request was to get more Custom fields. So we gave you five more!

Small improvements

You can now duplicate the content of marketing campaigns to speed up creating new ones.

The social networks in the Company profile are required to be in a specific format containing the “https://” prefix. We’ve added an example to follow that make things easier for you. We can’t ensure working them properly otherwise, so please make sure you’ve everything set accordingly!

As you definitely know, you can predefine values for the users to ease their work while populating their details. So far, the admins weren’t able to speed up their work by using the predefined values while inserting the data themselves. Now they can.

Also, we’ve modified the address field in Billing to ensure the copied content doesn’t get all messed up.

Still not satisfied?

If you’ve explored the features and want more, make sure you’re familiar with the previous batch of news – we’ve introduced Send as addresses support, enabled the app to Google Apps Free edition (legacy), brought into use support of Advanced field mapping and more.

Are there any features you would like to see in SignatureSatori? Don’t hesitate and contact us, we welcome your feedback and suggestions!

“Send As address” (alias) support, Google Apps Free edition support, improved template design editor, custom directory mapping and more!

We have recently released a new version of SignatureSatori that brings many long awaited features to you. We were able to bring the modifications to life because a change in Gmail and G Suite APIs enabled us to, but that also means that admins are required to recheck their Access scopes now. If you missed an e-mail from us about this, just log into the app and you’ll find out how to do that.

Send as addresses (Alias) support

You can now finally manage the Send as addresses as full-fledged users. That means you can add them to SignatureSatori, assign them a specific signature or even delete them. And it’s pretty easy. If you’re already a SignatureSatori user, check this quick manual on how easy it is to set everything up.

Google Apps Free Edition support

If you use the Google Apps Free edition (legacy), you weren’t able to utilize SignatureSatori functions at all. Well, that’s changed – you can now install and use all of the perks of our app. If you’ve installed SignatureSatori as a Free edition user before this update and realized you can’t use it, just log into the app now, recheck the Access scopes and you’re good to go. No need to reinstall or change anything.

Signature template customization

We’ve been offering multiple premade designs to choose from the beginning. Now you can easily change the fonts and colors of the template in the visual designer before you get to the details. This should save you time and work especially if you plan to have multiple signatures for your company.

Custom directory mapping

You can now set the mapping of User data from Google Workspace (G Suite) to better suit your needs, even with support for custom categories. Whatever custom attribute you save to Google Workspace (G Suite) can be synchronized to custom fields in SignatureSatori and save you time maintaining two separate directories.
